The Porter Telescope

This beautiful telescope came across our desks recently and it was greatly admired by the staff here at TMS Architects.  The telescope serves a practical use while providing a great focal point to your garden.  The bronze telescope also acts as a sundial.

The Porter  telescope was originally created in the early 1920s by Russell Porter.  Mr. Porter is best known as the designer of the Palomar Mountain Observatory’s  Hale Telescope. While only a few original Porter Telescopes remain, Telescopes of Vermont is recreating a new telescope true to the original craftsmanship.  The bonus is the new model is updated with modern day optics.

Wouldn’t this piece be a great way to acknowledge a special family milestone such as a wedding, special anniversary or significant birthday?
