Happy Fourth of July from TMS Architects
Happy Fourth of July from TMS Architects! If you are flying the flag for the holiday here is the proper protocol for displaying and storing the American flag from Martha Stewart: Do not display the flag in inclement weather. Whether displaying the flag vertically or horizontally, make sure the canton of stars is visible on the upper left-hand side. Never let the flag touch the ground. The flag should be hoisted briskly and lowered ceremoniously. If you are flying a flag at half-staff, hoist to its peak for an instant before lowering it. When flags of states, cities, or localities are flown on the ...
We Just had to Share this with you!

More than just amateur blueprints, these detailed drawings can be found in the collections of both the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art. He also has two books: How to Live a Sitcom Life and TV ...
The Pallet House
These pallet houses take sustainable building to a whole new level! Here's some background from Arch Daily. The home, entitled Pallet house is the creation of two students from the University of Vienna, and as the name suggests, reuses pallets to form a modular, energy efficient and affordable housing. The idea stemmed from a competition back in 2008, which the duo took first for, and now the homes have been exhibited in several European cities including Venice, Vienna, Linz and Grenoble. Currently in South Africa, the home costs 11USD per sq foot and could become a clever approach to low income housing. Click here to read the entire ...

The Isadore J. and Lucille Zimmerman House (1950) was designed by one of the world’s greatest modern architects, Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). Wright designed the house, the interiors, all the furniture, the gardens, and even the mailbox. In 1979 the building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Dr. and Mrs. Zimmerman left the property to the Currier in 1988. In 1990 the house and grounds were opened so that visitors could enjoy glimpses of a private world from the 1950s and 1960s, including the Zimmermans’ personal collection of modern art, pottery, and sculpture. Many people believe that the Zimmerman House is a total work of art. The only Wright home open to the public in New England, it is also one of only a few Wright buildings owned and operated by an art museum.
Visit the museum website for details. They even have a special weekend get away package that includes accommodations, museum admission and a tour of the Zimmerman House.
Music by the Sea Concert Series

We are at the final two weeks of the Sea Coast Science Center’s Music-by-the-Sea Concert Series. The concerts are a great way to enjoy a summer evening. You can relax, enjoy the music and take in a scenic sunset.
Tonight’s concert features Entrain. Entrain describes itself as “rock-blues-calypso-ska-zydeco-jazz-funk, based around the drums and infectious rhythms”. We don’t quite know what that means – but it sounds like fun! Next Thursday’s concert features the Mardi Gras style big band Jumbo Circus Peanuts.
